Christopher Von Uckermann Goes Solo With ‘Somos’

It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since RBD

 announced they were breaking up. 

Since then Anahi’s made plenty of headlines, 

Christian’s blowing up the Twitterverse, and 

Dulce Maria kicked off a hot novela career. 

But what about heartthrob Christopher von Uckermann? 

This November, he’s back with a debut

 solo album called Somos!

Yea Chris has made the occasional Quiero Mis Quinces 

appearance and dropped plenty of Somosteasers,

 but now it looks like everything is coming together.

 First, there’s that Uckermann album cover

 featuring multiple looks (and multiple tight shirts).

Second, there’s the “Sinfonia” single that just got released.

 Featuring crashing drums, acoustic guitars, 

and plenty of synthesized beats, it’s definitely 

got a more mature sound than the poppy tracks of RBD. 

There are even violin strings added into the mix.

As Uckermann describes it,

"RBD was a brilliant concept, but it was definitely not me musically. This new stage in my career lets me show the audience who I really am. It has taken almost two years to develop the sounds and lyrics on this album, I hope people will give it a chance and listen to it.”

It’s obvious that die-hard RBD-ers (and there’s A LOT of them) will be giving Somos a listen. And we’re sure we’ll be hearing about upcoming tour dates very soon. Who knows? Maybe he’ll even break out some old school classics on the road!
